14.05.2002 - The first Compaq server arrived.
18.05.2002 - The RedHat 7.3 Linux system was installed on the first server.
20.06.2002 - The next three Compaq servers arrived.
01.07.2002 - The first server is under test load (WWW, quantum chemistry, XANES).
19.07.2002 - The last Compaq server arrived. Beginning of cluster installation.
20.09.2002 - All five servers (LASC1-LASC5) are running.
28.03.2003 - The HOME directory is moved to new 120GB hard disk.
07.05.2003 - LASC is rated in the ClustersTOP 500 list at the 184 place!
19.09.2003 - Financial support from the University of Latvia was given for the new front-end node.
25.11.2003 - Financial support from the ISSP was provided for Gigabit network upgrade.
09.01.2004 - LASC was upgraded with new hard disks, new front-end node and Gigabit network.

08.07.2009 - LASC was upgraded with two 2xQuadCoreCPU 1U SuperMicro servers and a new file server (VECTOR). The local network was split into two subnets.
